Local parks hold a special place in the hearts of communities, and the local parks in Tomah, Wisconsin are especially cherished. Buckley Park (Aquatic Center)
Home of the Tomah Aquatic Center, Buckley Park is the perfect place for summer fun with families and friends. The only current outdoor public pool in Tomah, the Aquatic Center is a must for those hot and sunny summer days. The center features waterslides, swim lanes, and a splash pad for the kids. Along with the swim area, Buckley Park has a play area with a slide and swings, and a green space for playing games and sitting in the grass.
Butts Park/North American Squirrel Association Inclusive Park
Formerly known as Butts Park, the North American Squirrel Association Inclusive Park came about through the cooperative efforts of the Tomah branch of the North American Squirrel Association and the City of Tomah Parks Department. The park is the first All Inclusive Park in Tomah, and it is accessible for people of all ages and abilities. There are amenities for handicapped and elderly individuals, including an accessible bathroom and shelter, fishing pier, and playground. The n.a.s.a. Inclusive Park is also located right on Lake Tomah.
Winnebago Park
Another great local park in Tomah is Winnebago Park, which is incredibly kid and family friendly and makes an excellent space for outdoor summer fun. Winnebago Park features two open air pavilions for picnics, an enclosed shelter with a fireplace, and public restrooms. For those who like to have a little friendly competition, there is also a baseball diamond, volleyball courts, the Wonder Hoops basketball court, horseshoe pits, and fitness equipment. Fishing and walking are also welcomed activities with two boat ramps for access to the lake, an accessible fishing pier, and a walking trail. Along with all this, the park features Winnebago Wonderland and Rotary Plaza – All-Inclusive Music Park , a 10,000 sq. ft. wooden playground complete with castles, mazes, slides, tubes, swings (including a parent & tot swing), and many more kid friendly play areas. If you visit on Wednesdays during the summer, the park hosts Winnebago Wednesdays kid’s activity time.
Gillett Park
Host to the Farmer’s Market and Americana Music in the Park every summer, Gillett Park comes to life when the weather warms up. Come to explore the Little Red School House Museum and the Maid of the Mist Fountain. There is also a playground area, picnic area, and gazebo. Gillett Park is perfect for picnics, family gatherings, outdoor activities, and more.
Frank S. Andres Fireman’s Park
A final local Tomah park is Frank S. Andres Fireman’s Park, known simply as Fireman’s Park by many. There are two open air picnic pavilions, an enclosed shelter, public restrooms, and a playground area, making it a great place for a big gathering with friends and family. Fireman’s Park has a skate park, football fields, horseshoe pits, and the Born Learning Trail. For those who don’t know, the park also connects to Buckley Park and the Tomah Aquatic Center by a walking trail.
Fore! Come to Tomah and enjoy a new, nine-hole frisbee disc golf course. The course is free and open to anyone wishing to play. Consider joining in on the fun with the Monroe County Disc Golf Club!
Recreation Park
Recreation Park is located at 1625 Butts Avenue in Tomah. It is the location of the Monroe County Fair and the Budweiser Super National Truck and Tractor Pull.
Recreation Park has buildings and grounds for rent that are perfect for larger groups – festivals, weddings, anniversaries and quinceaneras. There is an option to reserve RV parking for guests when renting a facility.
Burnstad’s Adventure Park
Located inside Tomah’s Recreation Park is a farm themed gem. The colorful park features a playground, complete with a zip line! Located next to the playground is the Agventure Pavilion, an open-air barn with picnic tables. Bring your kids to Burnstad’s Adventure Park and let them run around.
